Multiplier Points: Introduction

The Multiplier Point programme has been developed by the CTIED to help bridge the gap between the work done at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the many potential beneficiaries in its member States (and especially those with economies in transition) that the UNECE does not have the resources to reach.

Multiplier Point Centres promote, distribute and translate into national languages reports, guidelines and other forms of information. The target audiences for this information are the business community including start-up entrepreneurs and local, regional and national authorities in charge of developing an enabling environment for trade, industry and enterprise.

Particular emphasis is placed on recommendations, documents, publications, norms and standards that could help UNECE member States, and especially those with economies in transition, to build legal and policy frameworks that foster trade facilitation, standards and enterprise development, and to integrate their economies into the world economy.

Multiplier Point Centres are provided with regular information on the activities of the Committee, including copies of documents and publications. The amount and kind of documentation distributed depend upon the work programme of the Committee and the resources available.
